The Material Control Supervisor is responsible for the daily supervision and execution of material control operations to ensure uninterrupted support of manufacturing. This position leads warehouse and material control personnel responsible for receiving, inventory control, stockroom operations, material movement, shipping, and ERP transactions. The supervisor ensures inventory accuracy, timely material flow, adherence to standard work, and compliance with company policies and safety requirements while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Working under the direction of the Material Control Manager, this role provides day-to-day leadership, coaching, scheduling, problem solving, and operational oversight to ensure materials are available where and when needed to meet production and customer requirements.

General Requirements
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Experience:
3 + years of experience in material control, inventory, stockroom, shipping, receiving, or logistics required. Prior team lead or supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
The Material Control Supervisor performs work in a manufacturing/warehouse environment. This position requires the ability to frequently stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, and climb stairs throughout the workday while monitoring operations and supporting production activities. The incumbent must be able to occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull materials or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. Frequent use of computers, barcode scanners, handheld devices, and other office equipment is required, along with repetitive hand and wrist movements associated with keyboarding and data entry. Job Duties
Leadership & Team Management
Supervise, coach, train, and develop Material Control team members while fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Assign daily work priorities and ensure appropriate staffing levels to meet operational requirements. Monitor employee performance by providing ongoing coaching and feedback, participating in performance evaluations, and identifying development opportunities. Maintain training records and ensure team members are properly trained on company procedures, safety requirements, and standard work practices.
Material Control Operations
Oversee daily inventory transactions to ensure the accurate and timely movement of materials within the ERP system. Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counting, transaction auditing, and inventory reconciliation while monitoring material availability to support uninterrupted production. Coordinate the movement of materials between receiving, warehouse, stockroom, and manufacturing to ensure efficient material flow.
Shipping & Receiving
Supervise daily shipping and receiving operations to ensure materials are received, inspected, labeled, stored, and transacted accurately. Ensure outbound shipments are packaged, documented, and shipped correctly and on schedule. Collaborate with Purchasing, Production, Quality, and Customer Service to resolve material-related issues and support customer and production requirements.
Production Support
Ensure shop orders are properly kitted, staged, issued, and delivered to manufacturing in accordance with production schedules. Monitor material shortages and proactively address issues to minimize production interruptions. Assist in investigating and resolving inventory discrepancies and material availability concerns to maintain operational continuity.
Inventory Control
Maintain inventory integrity by ensuring compliance with established inventory control procedures and transaction standards. Review inventory adjustments, investigate discrepancies, and support physical inventories and cycle count programs to achieve and maintain inventory accuracy.
Safety & Compliance
Promote and enforce company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and safe work practices throughout the material control operation. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment while ensuring compliance with company procedures, quality standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
Continuous Improvement
Identify and implement opportunities to improve inventory accuracy, warehouse organization, material flow, and overall operational efficiency. Participate in Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and other continuous improvement initiatives while monitoring departmental performance metrics and communicating results to management.

Possesses a strong understanding of inventory control, warehouse operations, shipping, receiving, logistics, and material flow within a manufacturing environment. Demonstrates knowledge of cycle counting, inventory reconciliation, inventory accuracy, and ERP transaction processing to support efficient operations and maintain inventory integrity.
Leadership
Demonstrates the ability to effectively supervise, coach, and develop employees while establishing priorities and maintaining accountability for departmental performance. Systems & Organization
Experience using ERP/MRP systems to support inventory transactions, material management, and operational reporting. Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications, including Excel, Outlook, and Teams. Exhibits strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and adapt to changing business needs in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Communication & Problem Solving
Possesses strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate across all levels of the organization. Demonstrates sound problem-solving abilities by investigating operational issues, identifying root causes, implementing corrective actions, and escalating concerns when appropriate. Works collaboratively with Manufacturing, Purchasing, Planning, Quality, and Customer Service to support operational objectives. Proficiency in English is required; bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.
Compensation: $30.07 - $35.48/hr
